Good leather gets better with age, as long as you look after it. Wipe off dust with a soft dry cloth every week or two, and let wet leather dry slowly at room temperature, never on a radiator.
Feed it with a neutral balm two or three times a year. Store bags stuffed with paper so they keep their shape, and give shoes a day off between wears so they can dry out.
